Podcast Fun!

My new favourite thing is my little drawing tablet, which works a treat during Zoom meetings.

It’s making me wonder why I didn’t buy one a year ago, as it would have saved me a lot of time writing slides for lectures. Being able to freely sketch models from Transactional Analysis is a good antidote to the rigidity of a slide pack.

And as a side note, the pen let’s me annotate slides too. I know! Can you have too much fun? Nope.

The point here is that we don’t always think of everything all the time. It’s okay to be nudged by a friend and think …aha… I will act on that.

It’s the same with podcasting. Since our Business Life radio show was paused by Covid-related studio access issues, myself and Anna (my amazing co-host) have been podcasting.

It would have been easy to have walked away from our weekly time commitment and found other things to do, probably more work, but making progress means finding new opportunities.

So, we wrote a script, worked out how to record 3-way chats and edit them to a high standard and then …carried on having fun. The bonus being we can talk to anyone in the world, whereas before ‘the world’ meant Norfolk.

It’s easy to say no. It’s easy to stick to what we know. There is safety in that and sometimes that’s a good course of action.

However, in business we need to make sure we are continuing to push our boundaries, even if that’s done in small ways with a new tablet, or larger ways with a new podcast.
